Agent Michael V. Gallagher of the Casa Grande Border Patrol Station was killed when his patrol vehicle was struck by another vehicle near San Miguel, Arizona. At the time of his death, Agent Gallagher was performing patrol duties on the Tohono O€™odham Indian Reservation.

Agent Gallagher began his career with the Border Patrol on July 21, 2008, as a member of the 794th Session of the Border Patrol Academy. After graduating from the Academy, he was assigned to the Casa Grande Station in the Tucson Sector.

Prior to joining the Border Patrol, Agent Gallagher served in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Iraq. He was a native of Pennsylvania and a graduate of Donegal High School in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. Agent Gallagher was 32 years old at the time of his death, and is survived by his wife, two sons, his parents and two sisters.
