Who can purchase the weapon?
All good-standing active, former, or retired Border Patrol agents and CBP employees will be eligible to purchase the weapon.
How will you verify the eligibility of a person who wishes to purchase?
For Border Patrol agents: We have access to class rosters going back to 1924. Your name will be checked against those rosters.
Other CBP employees: Will be required to provide a photocopy of your PIV Card when placing your order by emailing it separately to: bpcentennial@borderpatrolmuseum.com
What is the price of the weapon?
The price per pistol will be $811.88 (including tax and shipping). Buyer will have to pay FFL dealer fees if applicable.
When can I pre-order the weapon?
We plan to begin taking pre-orders for the weapon on January 1st, 2023, with a cut-off date in December 2023, to be able to have the weapons available for the Centennial in 2024.
Will the weapon be available only in the state of Texas?
No, the weapon will be available in every state in the United States including Puerto Rico, except in Massachusetts. No Glock sales can be made for residents of Massachusetts. *Active Duty Agents in California may purchase the Commemorative Glock 47 and must comply with California regulations concerning the purchase through their FFL Dealer. All other California residents will need to substitute the Commemorative Glock 19, Gen 3 in place of the Commemorative Glock 47. States with magazine (capacity) restrictions will be able to purchase the Commemorative Glock 47, but will receive the 10 round magazine in place of the 17 round Magazine.
Are only 500 weapons being sold?
No, the number of weapons being purchased by the museum will depend on orders received.
How many of the Glock 47 Commemorative Weapons can I purchase?
There will be no limit on the number of weapons an eligible buyer can purchase.
Can I select the serail number I want in the pistol?
No, due to the anticipated demand, we will not be able to offer that option. The Centennial Commemorative Weapons will have an exclusive USBP serial number.
How will the weapon be delivered to me if I purchase one?
The Museum’s FFL (Federal Firearms License) Distributor, Waco Mountain Trading Company LLC, will deliver the weapon to the buyers FFL Dealer, who will then check on the buyer’s eligibility to purchase a firearm per ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) regulations, complete necessary paperwork, and collect fees.
How can I pre-order the weapon?
On January 1st, 2023, an order form will be available on the Museum’s website. You may pay by Check, Money Order, Cash, Credit Cards or Debit Cards. NO PAYPAL, CASHAPP OR VENMO APPS ALLOWED. The Museum will not distribute the weapons, it must be delivered by the Museum’s FFL Dealer to your FFL Dealer.
Can I purchase a Glock 47 without centennial engraving?
No, you can only purchase the Centennial Commemorative Glock 47 or Glock 19 with the special Commemorative Engraving. No other version of the weapon will be offered by the Border Patrol Museum.
When can I expect delivery?
Waco Mountain Trading Company LLC (FFL Distributor) will order from Glock as often as once or twice a month. When the order is placed, we are expecting 90 day delivery from Glock to the distributor. The distributor will then have the weapon engraved and should be ready for distribution to your FFL dealer within 90 days. If the time exceeds 180 days, we will notify you as to the reason.
Is the commemorative pistol the same as the commercially released Glock 47?
No, there are significant differences.
1 – The Commemorative G-47 is built in Austria by Glock to specific U.S. Border Patrol recommendations.
2 – It comes with night sites, a special unique Border Patrol serial number, USBPXXXX, and trademarked engravings.
3 -The Commemorative Glock can only be purchased by active duty agents, retired agents, and those who have left the service honorably. AND they must have graduated from the Border Patrol Academy. (and some qualified CBP folks).
4-The Glock 47 offered to the pubic is made in Georgia, it is not made to the same specifications as the Agent carried Glock 47, which is the same Commemorative Weapon we are offering.
