Usbp Memorial Library/Research center

Complementing the museum’s rich Border Patrol collection, the Memorial Library offers a range of materials on Border Patrol history from its inception in 1924 to the present. The library/archives provides support to researchers at all levels interested in furthering their understanding of the nation’s first line of defense: the Border Patrol.

Library Services and Guidelines

The Collections Manager is available during public hours to assist you. Research Visits need to be set up in advance. Research requests and visits must have specific goals and relay to the research request. The archives staff cannot support generic information requests or visits intended simply to browse our collections. Requests for general historical research, or for information on agents, operations not represented in the collection, cannot be accommodated. Visitors must ask for permission to view  the library/research area in advance and will be supervised by staff. Library books and archives may not be checked out. Photocopying and scanning books, magazines, newspapers, etc. will be up to the discretion of the museum staff and be allowable only as long as no damage is done to the documents. 

Any usage of material requires proper citation.

*In depth research is best done in person.

** Permission to publish or reproduce in any form, including digitization, must be applied for separately. **
